Hello!
I’m Anne Marie Green, and I’m a third-year Ph.D. student studying American Politics at the University of California, Berkeley. My research interests are in political behavior, identity, representation, and symbolic politics. Currently, I’m most excited about my work focusing on symbolic policies, or policies that are primarily about meaning-making or recognition than the provision of material resources. I use a variety of methods, including original surveys, machine learning, LLM qualitative coding, text analysis, and ethnography.
Before coming to Berkeley, I graduated summa cum laude from Boston College with a degree in Political Science, and spent two years as a Pre-Doctoral Fellow in behavioral science at Harvard Business School.
Outside of my research, I enjoy writing about politics and other topics on my substack and taking photos of American political life.
You can read more about my current research here, or find my CV here.
